Name: Mark Fenrick Mark is the unlikely best friend and 'landlord' of Adam. He has a short fuse and likes to be left alone because people irritate him, especially Adam's twin sister Emily who likes to wind him up. He enjoys sleeping and reading the newspaper. Mark is quite lazy and also rich which inspired him to buy a Catos in the first place. |

Name: Adam Exis Adam is the younger twin bother of Emily and, as a result of living with only his sister and his mother as he grew up, is distictly feminine. He is shy and overly polite to even his best friend, Mark. He doesn't like aggressive people and is quite emotional. During his childhood he was separated from Emily as she went to study abroad in America which caused him to become severely depressed, a fact he has asked Mark to hide from his sister. He has memories of someone telling him that she would be killed if she didn't return to England soon, but never remembers the man's face. He quickly forms a strong bond with Alex as he is naturally kind towards him. |

Name: Emily Exis Emily is Adam's older, and noticably tomboy, twin sister. She moved to America for a period of two years while she studied Photography. She is an optimistic, upbeat person who is considered very irritating by Mark. She loves cute things, like Mark asleep, and so she also quickly becomes fond of Alex. |

Name: Alex (or Specimen #1) Alex is the fabled leader of the Catos. When he was captured by scientists he was used as a guinea pig for the microchip as he could take a huge amount of damage without being killed, unlike his weaker companions, most of whom died. He has no recollection of anything before being woken up from his 'hibernation' by Adam except for a scientist called Clive. He has a child-like personality, playful but also demanding and overly emotional. He likes people to be happy, which instantly draws him to Adam, even momentarily waking him from his hibernation. |

Name: Clive Dart Clive is the scientist Alex remembers from his past - the only person he remembers. He appears self-confident, sometimes arrogant, and is a recluse who hasn't left the institution for over ten years. He works on researching the past of the Catos (how they were found, the recorded information about them). He is especially interested by Alex's markers and has a strong dislike for Mark (who he enjoys annoying). |

Name: Martha Clive's assistant. She is also a Catos with odd markings, unlike Alex's they are pure black triangles. She has a short fuse with rude people, but it generally self-controlled and polite. Clive has had her with him ever since he was very young and she looks after him like an older sister (noticably bringing him tea every afternoon). Clive doesn't view her as a subject for experimentation as he does with Alex and the other Catos, but as a very important person. |

Name: Alphie Linwood Clive's bodyguard. He met Clive as a young boy and grew up with him while Clive began investigating the Catos. He's Clive's way of persuading people to do things they don't want to. |

Name: Ivy The 'leader' of the trio. She is unusually confident in her lacking sense of direction and gets by on luck. She tends to be happy most of the time, but hates things going wrong. She takes her orders directly from the person the trio work for while Cara and Polly follow her lead. |

Name: Cara Second in command of the trio. Much more logical and straightforward than the other two. She usually acts as the voice of reason and seems to influence Ivy's decisions even htough she's not the leader. Cara is optimistic but also becomes easily bored so she needs to find missions fun to continue. |

Name: Polly She is the last of the trio and so she has to take orders from both Ivy and Cara. She is usually stuck with the tasks no one else wants to do, such as map reading. She gets frustrated very easily. |

Name: Laurie A sinister, smiling girl who seems to know more than she lets on. She is Cara's twin sister, but rarely acts close to her, unless trying to wind her up. She hides her concern for others behind smiles and jokes as she can't afford to let on what she's thinking. She works directly for the Man who is in control of the entire operation and answers only to him. |

Name: Simon A computer genius. He tracks the Catos by hacking into their microchips, allowing the Trio to find them. He doesn't talk to the others much and has little interest in their affairs. He's being paid a huge sum of money to work for them, so he rarely complains.. |
